Philosophy as a board member: Education Minnesota must continue efforts to change the perception of public education in the state, work for funding changes for our schools, develop strong professional development standards and programs, and hold political leaders accountable for decisions they make. However, Education Minnesota is not an entity by itself. It is an organization of more than 70,000 education professionals. In order to be successful in these efforts, members must be involved. As an organization, we gain strength through unity. To have unity, everyone must have a voice. As an at-large member of the Governing Board, it is my responsibility to provide a voice for education professionals at all levels and in all areas of the state. I will use my experiences teaching in both Greater Minnesota and the Metro Area to work on the behalf of all education professionals.
