Philosophy as a board member:
Unions are a powerful force for justice, change and democracy. This is evident in the many policies we have initiated that have improved teaching and learning. More, now than ever, we must continue this powerful work to ensure the sustainability of public education, the teaching profession and our union. And, we must take back student advocacy. It is time to stand up and ensure that national, state and local education policies and practices being created are what students really need. Working together, we can lead the way to bring access and opportunity for a quality education to every child so that all may have success in school and in life.
