Standing committees
Council of Local Presidents
As stated in Article X, Section 3, of the Education Minnesota Constitution and Bylaws, members of the Council of Local Presidents must be current local presidents. The Council of Local Presidents shall:
a) Work directly with the Education Minnesota president to communicate local and regional concerns and to provide timely information to other local presidents within their Election District.
b) Identify local issues and service needs.
c) Advise the Education Minnesota president on local and regional matters.
d) Serve as a liaison between Education Minnesota and local presidents.
e) Review organizational policies as they impact locals and members.
f) Recommend local leadership training needs.
ESP Council of Local Presidents
As stated in Article X, Section 3, of the Education Minnesota Constitution and Bylaws, members of the ESP Council of Local Presidents must be current local presidents. The ESP Council of Local Presidents shall:
a) Work directly with the Education Minnesota president to communicate local and regional concerns and to provide timely information to other local presidents within their Election District.
b) Identify local issues and service needs.
c) Advise the Education Minnesota president on local and regional matters.
d) Serve as a liaison between Education Minnesota and local presidents.
e) Review organizational policies as they impact locals and members.
f) Recommend local leadership training needs.
Policy Development Committee
As stated in Article X, Section 4, of the Education Minnesota Constitution and Bylaws, the Policy Development Committee shall focus on matters external to Education Minnesota. This committee shall consider and recommend policies to the elected officers and leaders in Education Minnesota. The committee shall develop recommendations regarding issues and agencies external to Education Minnesota as well as recommend changes or additions to Education Minnesota policies. The committee may recommend task forces, ad hoc committees and policy divisions for additional study.
Professional Advocacy Committee
As stated in Article X, Section 5, of the Education Minnesota Constitution and Bylaws, the Professional Advocacy Committee shall consider and recommend policies and programs to the elected officers and other leaders regarding matters pertinent to the professional lives of members. This committee shall:
a) Identify and recommend policy on new trends in education.
b) Identify and recommend areas of need for state-sponsored professional growth opportunities for members.
c) Develop and recommend policy on member rights and responsibilities.
d) Develop and recommend policy on Education Minnesota responsibility to members.
e) Develop and recommend plans for bargaining and maintaining contracts.
