Description: This workshop is considered the premier professional development event in Minnesota for K-12 Geography educators. We hope you will consider joining us!

This program features a streamlined set of breakout sessions:

        Implementing the New Minnesota State Geography Standards
        Elementary Geography
        Middle School Geography
        High School Geography
        Pre-Service Teachers
        AP Human Geography
        Geotechnology: GIS, GPS, Google Earth, iPads, Apps and more!

Online maps are opening up business, government, and nonprofits around the world. Mapping and analyzing data with GIS (geographic information system) technology is doable on computer, tablet, and smartphone, and crucial for an organization’s work. See how the world is embracing geography, and how students can prepare (even from earliest ages) for college, career, and civic life with live maps.

GEOFEST is sponsored by the Minnesota Alliance for Geographic Education and the Associate Colleges of the Twin Cities (ACTC)

The registration fee (cost varies) includes a full day’s attendance, six CEUs and lunch.


Midwest Seizure Smart Fall Conference

9 a.m.-1p.m.: This session is for professionals. Cost is $40 for three CEUs and breakfast are lunch are provided.

1-4:30 p.m.: This session is for individual /families with epilepsy. A free lunch and snack are provided. There is no charge to attend and no CEUs will be awarded.

  • Q&A with experts about epilepsy research
  • Medical cannabis Q&A
  • Art Therapy to promote wellness

The Minnesota Educator Academy is Minnesota's largest professional development opportunity for educators. It is held at the Saint Paul River Centre in downtown St. Paul.  It includes a full day of activities on Thursday, Oct. 15, and a half-day program on Friday, Oct. 16.
