Filing period opens for Education Minnesota officer, NEA director positions

The filing period is now open for the Education Minnesota offices of president, vice president and secretary-treasurer, and two NEA director positions.

If you plan to file for any of the open positions -- or if you are thinking about filing, but have some questions -- you are invited to attend an information session to review federal election laws that apply to candidates, as well as Education Minnesota Election Rules.

The session will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 22 at the Education Minnesota headquarters, 41 Sherburne Ave., St. Paul. Lunch will be served.

Each candidate may bring up to two other campaign committee members.

This information session will be repeated in the fall on a date to be determined.

To minimize compliance inquires, challenges and/or campaign violations, all candidates are strongly encouraged to attend one of the two sessions offered.
