Television, movies and other visually based forms of entertainment have diminished people’s ability to actively imagine and learn on their own. Sitting still and listening no longer effectively engages children’s imagination; those with ADHD and other learning impairments are particularly affected. But recent research suggests an alternative. Learn how movement and rhythmic strategies that activate the senses can improve students’ ability to pay attention and learn.
