Join our Green Team to help grow jobs for a green economy
Concerned about the environment and climate change? Want to learn more about energy efficiency?
Get involved with Education Minnesota’s partnership with the BlueGreen Alliance, and become part of Education Minnesota's Green Team!
The Blue Green Alliance is a national, strategic partnership between labor unions and environmental organizations dedicated to expanding the number and quality of jobs in the green economy.
Education Minnesota is looking for members interested in getting involved in environmental issues on a state and federal level.
Through presentations and workshops by BlueGreen Alliance staff, Education Minnesota members can learn about "green schools" and energy efficiency programs that will save the school districts precious financial resources, as well as ideas for programs that can involve students in making positive change in your building. Jobs in clean energy are predicted to grow – how can we best prepare students for these careers?
Launched in 2006 by the United Steelworkers and the Sierra Club, this unique labor-environmental collaboration has grown to include the following:
- American Federation of Teachers (Education Minnesota)
- Communications Workers of America
- Natural Resources Defense Council
- Service Employees International Union
- National Wildlife Federation
- Laborers' International Union of North America
- Union of Concerned Scientists
- Utility Workers Union of America
- Amalgamated Transit Union
- Sheet Metal Workers' International Association
- United Auto Workers
The BlueGreen Alliance unites 13 million members and supporters in pursuit of good jobs, a clean environment and a green economy.
