Education Minnesota endorses 2 members for TRA board

After screening candidates, Education Minnesota has endorsed two members running for open seats on the Teachers Retirement Association Board of Trustees.

Rob Gardner and Mary Supple are both incumbents finishing first terms on the board. Gardner is a high school English teacher in Edina. He has served as a National Education Association director and a member of the Education Minnesota Governing Board and in local leadership posts. Supple teaches sixth-grade at Richfield Middle School. She has served as an NEA director and a member of the Education Minnesota Governing Board and in leadership of her local.

If you are a TRA member, you should receive voting information by the end of February.

Please vote and return the ballot promptly to ensure a voice in sustaining knowledgeable management of pension funds and policy. Voting closes March 29.

The board of trustees governs the TRA, a statewide pension fund that manages retirement, disability and death benefits for all elementary and secondary teachers in the state, except teachers in St. Paul and Duluth. Trustees elected this year will start their terms July 1.
