Request for workshop proposals

Share your expertise and inspiration by proposing a workshop for the Education Minnesota Professional Conference in downtown St. Paul this October. Our civic education theme is “Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Citizens.”

Delivering high-quality, professionally interesting education topics remains our focus on Oct. 16. Classroom strategies, research on new teaching methods and success stories will round out the types of proposals we hope to receive.

In particular, we invite you to share your knowledge and expertise in the following education areas:

  • Developing collaborative relationships with parents, families and communities.
  • Improving classroom management strategies.
  • Broadening the knowledge base for all educators, especially regarding the theme, “Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Citizens.”
  • Presenting new professional development initiatives that enhance teacher learning and improve student achievement.
  • Assisting educators who seek to bring “wellness” into their professional practice.

Our audiences frequently ask for these:

  • Interactive presentations.
  • Materials and resources for future reference.
  • Effective, hands-on classroom strategies.

In addition, content-specific and pedagogical topics in demand include the following:

  • Teaching English language learners.
  • Differentiation for diverse learners.
  • Mathematics at all levels.
  • Music.
  • The entire field of social studies. In relation to our theme this year, we hope to highlight interdisciplinary attention to civic education and preparing students to be active, informed citizens.
