Education Minnesota offers scholarships for National Board certification

You can apply for a scholarship to help offset the costs of participation in the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) program if you:

  • Are an Education Minnesota member.
  • Are licensed to teach.
  • Have three years of teaching/counseling experience.

Because the intent of this scholarship is to encourage motivated members, initial NBPTS applicants will receive preference over those who have already been through the program.

The NBPTS process is demanding and complex. The Foundation Board is looking to award scholarships to members who are familiar with and able to commit to that process.

Objective
The Education Minnesota Foundation for Excellence in Teaching and Learning will grant up to three $1,000 scholarships toward the complete application process for the NBPTS program and up to six $395 scholarships to members for the Take One! entry program. The funds for these scholarships will be available from July 1 through the end of 2012, and will be paid upon proof of payment for either the full NBPTS program or the Take One! entry program.
