Monday evening: entertainment and reception
Join us Monday evening for entertainment and a chance to get to know colleagues from other locals. At 7 p.m., join us for a dazzling presentation. Magic? Hypnosis? Come and see! After the show, we’ll have refreshments and fun during our reception.
Keynote speaker: Dr. Elaine Bernard, Tuesday, 1 p.m.
Dr. Elaine Bernard is executive director of the Harvard University Trade Union Program. She joins us to discuss setting the stage for a culture of organizing in our locals. Bernard uses an organizing model to implement the components of our full capacity local initiative in your local. Her talk will address the 11 indicators of a full capacity local, the trainings Education Minnesota makes available to assist locals, and how to ensure that these are embedded in an organizing culture. Dr. Bernard’s “tell-it-like-it-is” style of message delivery will both amuse and inspire you.
