Education Minnesota 2008 legislative positions

Each year Education Minnesota establishes a comprehensive set of goals for the legislative session.

Education Minnesota believes that public education must provide a continuum of educational programs for learners throughout their lives that will enable them to be successful in a changing world.

The challenge Education Minnesota shares with families, communities and those elected to make policy and funding decisions is to provide the best early childhood programs to prepare students to learn, assure that E-12 students attain fundamental knowledge and skills that continue to distinguish Minnesota’s public schools, and develop a world-class higher education system capable of responding to the globalization of our state’s economy.

The principles and strategies outlined in Education Minnesota’s 2008 positions provide a guide to meeting these challenges.
