Job Title: Head secretary

Grade level/Brief description of works: I'm the head secretary at Twin Oaks Middle School. I'm often the first voice/face that community hears/sees when they come to our building. I promote a positive, welcoming environment and work to keep the flow of school moving. I Locate substitutes for all staff, sign students in and out and create calendars, schedules. My job changes daily.

Philosophy: At school – my philosophy is to make eye contact and give a smile to each person I meet. I know that sometimes all it takes is for one person to connect with someone to make a difference. I want to make that difference.

In my union – my philosophy is to work to get others involved, so that they can see and learn about the benefits and support that is available to them. I believe it is important to be a non-biased advocate for the members of Education Minnesota, to be willing to be a good listener and be willing to take appropriate action.
