Dear local president:
As we begin a new school year, I want to thank you for all you do. You have taken on a vital role in your local, and Education Minnesota stands ready to help you.
To assist you in your ongoing work with your members, I am pleased to announce a time-saving new resource that will arrive in your email inbox each month.
"Union Station" is a toolkit with information and ready-to-use materials to help you get your members involved and keep them engaged. Examples might include the following:
- A survey you can give to members about workplace safety
- A letter you can send to members to encourage them to attend Lobby Day
- A "know your contract" quiz you can distribute to members
- A "common interests" survey for members to fill out and share as an icebreaker at a membership meeting
- Materials for a membership meeting to talk about legislative priorities
Union Station will be tailored to the calendar. While the Education Minnesota website already has a calendar of events, Union Station will take it a step further with suggestions and tools you can use throughout the year.
We hope this latest addition to your toolbox will be helpful in meeting the many challenges facing you and your members. We welcome your comments and suggestions.
