Student Leadership Workshop set for Sept. 24-25

Become a more effective leader by attending the Education Minnesota Student Program Fall Leadership Workshop Sept. 24-25. The workshop is open to current and new executive officers (president, co-president, vice president, secretary, treasurer) or their designees.

The workshop takes place at Education Minnesota's headquarters, 41 Sherburne Ave., St. Paul. Highlights include the following:

SOAR and CLASS grant information
Legal information
Chapter sharing and planning
Preparing for student teaching
NEA student president to discuss how to energize your local chapter
Election of two members to the NEA Connections Conference Nov. 30-Dec. 2 in Orlando

The workshop runs 5:30-9 p.m. Sept. 24 and 8:30 a.m.-3 p.m. Sept. 25. Education Minnesota will provide meals, double occupancy hotel rooms and mileage reimbursement for one vehicle per campus chapter.

The student program mailed registration information to chapter officers. Reservation deadline is Sept. 14.
