Celebrate Labor Day with other union members around the state
This year, more than ever, we should recognize the importance of Labor Day. This year saw some of the most vicious attacks on workers in a generation. This Labor Day, it’s an opportunity to show those who attacked us that we are still here and we will not give up.
What better way to show solidarity, than spending Labor Day with your union brothers and sisters. Here are Labor Day Weekend events across Minnesota:
Sunday, Sept. 4
Virginia
Day Before Labor Day Picnic
Noon to 4 p.m., Olcott Park
Free food, music and fun for the kids!
Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 5
Baxter
Labor Day Picnic
Noon to 4 p.m., Baxter City Park
Free and open to the public. Brats, hot dogs, beans, chips, pop and water will be served. Many drawings for great prizes for kids and adults. Games for the kids and music will be provided.
Cloquet
Carlton County Labor Day Celebration
10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Parade, car show, retiree dinner, rides for the kids and much more. Call 218-728-1257 for details.
Duluth
Annual Central Labor Body Picnic
Noon to 4 p.m., Bayfront Park
St. Cloud
Labor Day Picnic
Noon to 3 p.m., Riverside Park
Food, beverages, music and fun!
St. Paul
St. Paul Regional Labor Federation State Fair Parade
1 p.m. -- Meet in the parade lot (between the East Como and West Como parking lots); look for a group in blue and white T-shirts by the tracks.
1:30 p.m. -- Go in Gate 25 and walk to the staging area (near the intersection of Judson Avenue and Underwood Street).
2 p.m. -- Parade starts
