NBPTS seeks stories from teachers of color

NBPTS is committed to spreading the word about the value, benefits, and impact of National Board Certified Teachers.  In this effort, we want to share compelling stories from NBCTs of color on the impact National Board Certification has had on them, their classroom, school or community.

We are developing a NBPTS publication that will showcase the diversity of our NBCTs and their personal stories detailing the impact National Board Certification had on them in the classroom, in their school or district, their community or their involvement with policy and advocacy, but we need your help!

The 2010 diversity brochure will be a fresh look at the experiences of NBCTs who represent and foster diversity in classrooms, schools and communities every day. Through personal stories, this publication will showcase the impact that NBCTs have been making on students all across America.

NBCT stories in particular have proven to be an effective and valuable way to share how the process of going through National Board Certification may impact a teacher’s instructional practice, school or leadership development. If you are a National Board Certified Teacher of color, please consider being a part of this new publication by sharing your story with us.

Please review the framework  below and submit your story at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=xUPz8D6dqQsa6SNi5tJSvw_3d_3d.   We will be collecting NBCT stories through October 23rd. Please direct any questions to Joyce Loveless, NBCT Executive Director, Program Access and Equity  at jloveless@nbpts.org .
