Additional licensure requirements

In addition to the requirement for 125 clock hours, the Minnesota Legislature requires all teachers to provide this evidence to renew a license:

1. All applicants must include in their professional development activities that address positive behavioral intervention strategies and accommodation, modification, and adaptation of curriculum, materials, and instruction to appropriately meet the needs of varied students in achieving graduation standards.

2. Effective for renewal of professional licenses that expire on June 30, 2004, and after, applicants must also include in their professional development activities that demonstrate further reading preparation.

3. Effective for renewal of professional licenses that expire on June 30, 2005, and after, applicants must also include in their professional development activities that provide an understanding of key warning signs for early-onset mental illness in children and adolescents.
