Join Education Minnesota's ER&D Network

1. Fill out an ER&D interest inventory and return it to Education Minnesota, 41 Sherburne Ave., St. Paul, MN 55103.
2. We will screen your local union for its potential to deliver ER&D to your members.
3. We then submit recommended local unions to the president of Education Minnesota and with approval to the AFT regional director.
4. After approval, your local union president attends the Local Leader I Orientation, and decides whether to participate. There is no cost to your local nor a commitment to participate.
5. Pending local executive board approval, your local union president fills out an ER&D application. He or she looks for two local members to attend the ER&D training institute and seek collaboration with the school district and/or other nearby locals and school districts for funding and support.
6. Selected trainers attend 10 days of training in two sessions – summer and winter institutes.
7. The cost of training to locals is $950 per trainer (10 days) for all costs including air fare, hotel, meals, transportation and materials.
8. Local ER&D trainers develop an implementation plan with the local president at the end of the winter institute.
9. Trainers get certified in ER&D and return to offer ER&D training session to members and to look for members who have the potential to add additional strands.
