New summer ER&D program provides practical classroom strategies
Get practical, hands-on strategies you can take to your classroom in a new summer professional development opportunity from Education Minnesota.
Education Minnesota will offer the Educational Research and Dissemination summer pilot program, in collaboration with the American Federation of Teachers, July 12-16 in Fergus Falls.
Nationally trained and certified practicing K-12 educators will deliver five of the most popular strands in this effective, research-based professional development program.
What is offered?
Five ER&D 30-hour classes will be offered – participants will select one from these program options:
- Foundations 1: Organizing the Classroom Environment
- Reading Comprehension Instruction
- Instructional Strategies That Work
- Thinking Math: Journey to Algebra
- Managing Student Behavior for Support Staff (designed for and taught by ESPs and other support staff)
Details
- July 12-16, Events Center, The Falls Best Western Inn & Bigwood Conference Center, Fergus Falls
- Cost: $100, which includes training, five days of lodging (double occupancy) and meals.
- Check with your district staff development committee (it may help to inquire about available title 2 funds) or your local for available funds for reimbursement for your registration fee.
- Earn three semester graduate credits for $170 per credit. By extending your work through the coming school year, you can earn an additional six graduate semester credits at the same price.
- Pay for the credit hours at the time of training.
- No undergraduate credit exchange is available through this program.
- Earn 30 clock hours, meeting re-licensure requirements where appropriate.
- Participating in this national training during summer 2010, you can become a ER&D trainer in your local and beyond.
