St. Paul, Minn. May 31, 2016 – The following is a statement from Education Minnesota President Denise Specht on Gov. Mark Dayton's veto of the pension bill.
"Everyone agreed there needed to be a shared-sacrifice approach to improve the long-term stability of Minnesota's public employee pension plans. Unfortunately, the bill passed by the Legislature failed to do that. It's unfair to put all of the burden on the retirees, and we commend the governor for recognizing that."
