ST. PAUL, Minn., Jan. 25, 2016 – A research report on the benefits of offering high-quality pre-kindergarten to every Minnesota family will be released by Education Minnesota's Educator Policy Innovation Center at a news conference Thursday morning in Minneapolis.
"The academic research and personal experiences of hundreds of educators are clear. It's time for every family to have access to high-quality preschool," said Denise Specht, president of Education Minnesota. "Programs with arbitrary income cutoffs miss too many needy children and don’t match the reality of working families with incomes that rise and fall month to month, and year to year."
The news conference will feature classroom educators from throughout Minnesota who will share the latest research and their own personal experiences in preschool and kindergarten classes.
Who: Education Minnesota's Education Policy Innovation Center.
What: News conference to present new report on the need for universal pre-K.
When: 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 28.
Where: Dowling Urban Environmental Learning Center, a public magnet school in the Minneapolis district, 3900 W River Pkwy, Minneapolis, MN.
